First impression of Siem Reap: busy, hot, dusty, crowded, touristy, loud city. Can’t think about more synonyms for now but you should get the picture. Secondly, dollar is widely accepted, apart from $2 note.

Found a little ‘Mith La Or’ guesthouse five min walk from main night market street for $6 for double room/night. Cheapest so far, and believe me we did spend time on foot knocking on hostels doors and inquiring about prices. But you can get a decent dorm for $7-$10 per bed. There is also local place to eat on the corner from our guesthouse with meals for $1. It’s not tourists restaurant but more like canteen with amazing food. If you’re not a fan of street food, don’t bother going there.

Night market is great and colourful, full of bars and massage places.

Let yourself to get lost in streets and you’ll end up finding some hidden local place to eat. We found a great place ‘Mom New Rever Restaurant’ serving big tasty portions for $1-$2.5 a meal with $0.50 smoothie’s and fresh fruit shakes! Also pampered the feet with fish pedicure for $1 and foot massage for $2/hour. Well deserved treat!

And now big news: spiders and snakes for desert… Took me some time to get my head round this idea. But just to prove myself I can do it, I took a bite. Thank God for $0.50 draugh beer I had in my hand. Life saver.

Two days in Siem Reap is more then enough, so tomorrow we are taking an overnight bus and moving south to Sihanokville. After all, we are the beach girls:)

See you later, alligator and
